Job summary

Farther Finance, LLC is seeking a 401(k) Operations Associate to be the operational backbone for retirement plan advisors and the Senior 401(k) Specialist. You will partner with advisors to manage sponsor relationships and help scale Farther's 401(k) services.

The role emphasizes coordinating with recordkeepers, preparing IC materials, and maintaining plan documentation while supporting onboarding and billing processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in financial services, including 3+ years of hands-on retirement plan servicing at a recordkeeper, TPA or retirement plan–focused RIA
• Direct experience with at least two major recordkeeping platforms (e.g., Fidelity, Empower, Schwab, Ascensus, Voya, etc.) and their sponsor and advisor portals
• Working knowledge of plan operations: contribution processing, distributions and loans, fund changes and mapping, fee disclosures, and annual compliance/testing calendar
• Familiarity with ERISA/fiduciary issues retirement plans encounter (fiduciary status determination, non-discrimination testing, etc.)
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
• Clear, professional written communication with sponsors, vendors, and advisors

Responsibilities

• Support advisors in delivering ongoing service for 401(k) plans
• Prepare investment committee materials: fund scorecards, fee benchmarks, participant enrollment, plan health metrics
• Track IC action items through to completion
• Communicate fund and plan-design changes to recordkeepers
• Monitor implementation and verify changes are processed correctly
• Coordinate platform capabilities with advisors
• Manage plan documents including 408(b)(2) disclosures and IPS; maintain records
• Support onboarding by tracking agreements and Form ADV, and setting up billing
