Job summary

Alabama 4-H is seeking a Baldwin County 4-H AmeriCorps Member to deliver hands-on 4-H programming in school-day and after-school settings. You will collaborate with County 4-H Agents and Extension professionals to recruit youth, collect data, and support statewide initiatives.

The position runs 10/01/2026–09/30/2027 in ALABAMA, with a full-time schedule and a living allowance plus an education award upon successful completion of service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to commit to full-time AmeriCorps service.
• Eligibility for AmeriCorps program.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work with youth in school and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 4-H programming in school-day and after-school settings.
• Facilitate hands-on learning in STEM, agriculture, environmental education, healthy living, and workforce readiness.
• Recruit and engage youth participants and assist with program data collection and reporting.
• Support 4-H events and statewide initiatives that enhance youth engagement.
• Collaborate with County 4-H Agents and Extension professionals.

Through direct service, members help increase access to 4-H enrichment opportunities, STEM education, career exploration, and other evidence-based youth development programs in communities where these resources are limited or not currently available. Members collaborate with local schools, community organizations, volunteers, and Extension professionals to strengthen youth outcomes and build local capacity for sustainable programming. This position provides a meaningful opportunity to serve Alabama communities while gaining professional experience in education, youth development, and public service.

Member Duties :

Provides direct service by delivering 4-H programming in school-day and after-school settings. Programming areas may include STEM, agriculture, environmental education, healthy living, civic engagement, leadership development, and workforce readiness. The AmeriCorps Member will facilitate hands-on learning opportunities to build life skills, collaborate with County 4-H Agents, recruit and engage youth participants, assist with program data collection and reporting, and supports 4-H events or other statewide initiatives that enhance youth engagement.
