Job summary

QualDerm Partners in Hickory, NC is seeking a Mohs Histotech to support our Mohs surgical team by preparing and processing tissue specimens with precision. You will produce high-quality slides, maintain quality standards, and contribute to exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

We offer a Monday–Thursday schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a $1,000 sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or related discipline required.
• ASCP Histotechnologist (HTL) certification preferred.
• Experience in Mohs histotechnology preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and section frozen tissue specimens using Mohs micrographic surgical techniques.
• Process, embed, and stain tissue samples accurately to facilitate examination by the Mohs surgeon.
• Perform quality assurance procedures to ensure slides meet laboratory and clinical standards.
• Document all procedures according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine troubleshooting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with clinical and surgical teams to support efficient workflow and outstanding patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile laboratory environment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with histology techniques and best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory and clinical operations.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology or related discipline required
• Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) by ASCP is highly preferred
• Previous experience in Mohs histotechnology preferred
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
