Job summary

Herr Foods Inc. in Nottingham, PA is seeking a Yard Truck Driver for the 3rd shift (6pm–6am) to join our Warehouse team. This full-time role offers a retention bonus and comprehensive benefits, with a Mon–Thu schedule and potential overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include yard truck maintenance, hitching/unhitching trailers, performing inspections, securing loads, and ERP data entry. A valid Class A CDL is required; candidates must pass background and pre-employment drug screens.

Qualifications

• Must complete a background and pre-employment drug screen.
• Preplacement screening tests the ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Must be at least 21 years of age; valid CDL Class A License; able to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of yard trucks.
• Hook and un-hook trailers and perform inspections; report maintenance issues.
• Move and back trailers into loading docks.
• Must complete an inspection report for equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines as described in the safety code of conduct.
• Move trailers from plant warehouse to the Nottingham branch warehouse.
• Ensure load is secure when moving trailers.
• May involve loading or unloading trailers.
• Enter production and manufacturing data into the ERP system (raw materials, machine usage, labor hours).
• Track inventory levels in real time and coordinate with teams for material replenishment.
• Other ERP responsibilities and duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking a qualified individual for our Yard Truck Driver position, to join our Nottingham, PA team!

• SCHEDULE: Monday- Thursday
• SHIFT: 6pm - 6am
  • Additional hours may be required due to business demands.

What you need to get started

Qualifications you bring

• Class A CDL license required
• Ability to work in wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold, and extreme heat.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, and fumes or airborne particles.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of yard trucks.
• Hook and un-hook trailers and perform inspections on trailers while doing so. Must report any maintenance issues to supervisor right away.
• Move and back trailers into loading docks.
• Must complete an inspection report for equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines as described in the safety code of conduct.
• Move trailers from plant warehouse to the auxiliary and the Nottingham branch warehouse.
• Ensure load is secure when moving trailers.
• May involve loading or unloading trailers.
• Ensure load is secure when the load is completed and close and lock down the doors.
• Ensure trailer is secure to dock with wheel chocks when dock lock is not available.
• Inspect trailers to ensure dollies are secure for trailer to be loaded.
• Ensure that manufacturing data is accurately entered and tracked in the ERP system, including production orders, materials, and finished goods.
• Update and maintain ERP records to reflect real-time data, including production status, material usage, and equipment maintenance.
• Enter production and manufacturing data into the ERP system, including raw material consumption, machine usage, labor hours, and quality control data.
• Track inventory levels in real-time and coordinate with the necessary teams to ensure timely material replenishment.
• Other ERP responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous trailer driving experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid CDL Class A License.
• Must possess a stable work history with good references.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English.
