Job summary

Interstate Waste Services in Danbury, CT is seeking an experienced 3rd shift Heavy Equipment Operator to use a wheel loader to move material and load trailers.

The position runs Sunday-Thursday 10 PM–4 AM and Saturday 6 AM–1 PM, with a pay range of $23.00 to $27.00 per hour and full benefits.

You will load transfer trailers, perform equipment inspections, and maintain a safe transfer station while working with a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Equipment Operator.
• Experience in sanitation industry preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy duty equipment such as excavators and bucket loaders.
• Routinely set up and inspect equipment prior to operation.
• Move materials and load transfer trailers to target weight.
• Repair machinery and replace parts as needed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and communicate effectively with team.
