Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, based in the Danbury, CT area, is seeking CDL B rear-load drivers to join our team. The role requires one year of rear-load experience and the ability to drive a manual transmission, with competitive hourly pay and full benefits.

Expect early starts (4am-5am), Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays, and year-round steady work. A strong safety record and knowledge of DOT/OSHA rules are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• 1 year CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
• Valid CDL (A or B) with airbrake endorsement.
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
• 21 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Familiarity with DOT/OSHA regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear-loading garbage trucks safely and efficiently.
• Transport waste/recyclables to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities, possibly multiple trips per shift.
• Navigate congested areas and tight spaces; perform high-quality backing maneuvers.
• Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain truck safety according to DOT and company standards.
