Packaging Machine Operator (3rd Shift) - Sensible

Pay: $21.25 / hour

Location: Mountville, Pennsylvania

Job Description

Basic Purpose: To ensure the proper packaging of products according to specifications, in a safe and sanitary manner. Supervise packers, operate packaging machinery, and adhere to schedule and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct safety and sanitation inspections before shifts and record results.
2. Set up and operate conveyor belts and packaging machinery.
3. Thread packaging film and adjust machine settings for optimal operation.
4. Perform quality checks, document results, and address out-of-spec products.
5. Maintain a clean work area and assist in team tasks.
6. Supervise and train packers on policies and procedures.
7. Follow GMPs, Food Safety Policies, and other protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least six months of experience in a manufacturing or related role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to work in hot, humid, noisy environments, including weekends and overtime.
• Basic English reading and speaking skills.
• Adherence to GMP and safety regulations.
• Ability to maintain records and communicate effectively.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand for up to 60% of the time, with physical activities including walking, stooping, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and noise, with climbing stairs and operating equipment.
