Job summary

BAE Systems in York, Pennsylvania seeks an experienced VT Level II Quality Inspector for Visual Weld Inspection on the 3rd Shift. You will perform audits, verify conformance to drawings and specs, and document outcomes in required repositories. Prior VT Level II certification and training per SNT-TC-1A are required.

Shift is Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm–6:00am, 8 hours with breaks. Wages start at $35.59/hour plus $1.25 shift differential; 3rd shift support required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or the overall equivalent.
• VT Level II certification per SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.
• Documented Visual Inspection experience hours in welding / fabrication.
• Documented Visual Inspection classroom training for Level II VT per SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documents (drawings, specifications).
• Interpret dimensional drawings, weld symbols and PWI requirements.
• Capable of performing dimensional and Visual Weld inspections.
• Understand imperial and metric measurements, conversions and decimals.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Physically able to access vehicles to obtain inspection data; lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must pass BAE VT Level II examination and support 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality audits for conformance to drawings/specifications on large structures and welds.
• Determine accept/reject dispositions and document results in repositories.
• Conduct visual and, when required, tactile inspections with standard measurement tools.
• Interpret drawings, weld symbols and related work instructions.
• Maintain VT Level II certification and applicable training records.
