Job summary

HCSC, Inc & Affiliates in Allentown, PA is seeking a Utility Mechanic (3rd Shift) to maintain steam, water, and mechanical systems in our laundry equipment. The role involves repairs, inspections, and documenting work, with pay starting at $27.11–$31.57 per hour plus a $0.60 shift differential.

Qualifications

• GED or Highschool diploma with at least 2 years of hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance of laundry equipment.
• Technical school or approved training in maintenance disciplines (pipe fitting, steam systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical repair, safety).
• Ability to communicate across teams and departments.
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-trade repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance on steam, water, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect equipment, assess conditions, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Interpret instructions and diagnose issues based on input from supervisors and operators; communicate problems and solutions effectively.
• Maintain accurate daily records of work performed.
• Identify and report parts or equipment needs to initiate purchase requisitions.
• Read and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings with minimal supervision.
• Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
