Job summary

Indiana Packers Corporation seeks a Utilities Technician for the 3rd shift at the Delphi, IN plant. You will maintain and operate ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers and water supply, following SOPs to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include rounds, logs, troubleshooting, safety compliance with PPE/LOTO, and cross-department coordination. Strong Excel/data skills and 5+ years in utilities needed; multiple required certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• HS diploma; engineering degree preferred.
• Five+ years in utilities operations.
• HVAC experience with refrigerants R-22, R-407C, R-507C, R-717.
• Ammonia refrigeration system operation/maintenance.
• Haz-Mat and forklift training; PSM awareness.
• CMMS familiarity.
• Willing to obtain RETA CARO/CIRO and Boiler operator cert within 2 years.
• Strong Excel data management and reporting.
• Overtime, weekend, holiday availability.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment per manufacturer specs and safety guidelines.
• Operate ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps and vessels per SOPs.
• Make rounds, log daily operations for multiple engine rooms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility equipment issues.
• Maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment using SOPs.
• Follow safety requirements including PPE and LOTO.
• Respond to emergency calls related to utility systems.
• Coordinate with other departments for swift responses.
• Provide training on safety procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Attend scheduled hours and ensure teamwork.
