Job summary

International Paper Griffin Box Plant is seeking a Transfer Cart Driver for the 3rd shift (10pm–7am). The role moves corrugator stock to WIP and supports stacker duties, reporting to corrugator supervisors.

Overtime and some weekends are required. Responsibilities include following safety rules, reading work orders, verifying sheet sizes and locations, inspecting quality characteristics, labeling materials, and maintaining orderly work areas.

Qualifications

• The ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation.
• The ability to read, write, and speak English.
• The ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler.
• The ability to use basic shop math.
• The ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Read factory work orders and converting schedules to learn customer specifications.
• Verify sheets to ensure sheet sizes and score locations conform to customer specifications.
• Check board quality characteristics such as warp, score strength, caliper, bond, line-up, and color.
• Identify sheets with chalk-written order numbers and/or load tags.
• Remove, stock, and identify nonconforming materials.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
