Job summary

Gestamp Alabama in McCalla, AL is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker for the 3rd shift to build, repair and maintain stamping dies in a high-volume environment. The candidate should troubleshoot tooling issues, set up manual tool room machines, and support die tryout and quality validation.

We require a minimum of 5 years in Tool and Die work, strong knowledge of machining, tool steels, heat treatment, welding and precision measurement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience as a Tool and Die Maker.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tool steels, heat treatment and welding.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve press-related tooling issues; implement corrective actions.
• Set up and operate manual tool room machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.).
• Build, repair, modify, and maintain stamping dies to meet production needs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and related equipment.
• Support die tryout activities and assist with part quality validation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool performance.
