Job summary

Kautex is seeking a Technical Team Lead for the 3rd shift in Lavonia, GA. You will lead Controls, Maintenance, and Process Technicians, manage priorities, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and improvements across production lines.

You will provide hands-on troubleshooting, support automation systems, and drive process optimization while ensuring safety and documentation standards are met.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or two-year technical degree or equivalent in maintenance/controls/mechatronics.
• At least 3 years in manufacturing, focusing on controls/automation, industrial maintenance, or plastics tech.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
• PLC/HMI troubleshooting or programming; Siemens PLC a plus; robotics experience preferred; FANUC a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, and support Controls, Maintenance, and Process Technicians across shifts.
• Review work orders, priorities, and assign work to technicians.
• Follow up on work completion; coach technicians on performance and methods.
• Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting, repair, setup, retooling, and optimization of production equipment and automation.
• Coordinate rapid response to equipment breakdowns to restore production safely.
• Support programming, installation, modification, and troubleshooting of automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives).
• Assist machine setup and process optimization to meet production and quality targets.
• Ensure preventive maintenance docs, readings, and change-point records are completed on time.
