Job summary

Kautex is seeking a Technical Team Lead for 2nd shift to oversee maintenance, controls, and process technicians across assigned areas. You will review work orders, set priorities, coordinate troubleshooting, and ensure documentation is accurate to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has an apprenticeship or two-year technical degree, 3+ years in manufacturing, hands-on PLC/HMI or robotics experience, and the ability to read schematics and process docs.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship, two-year technical degree, or comparable education and experience in maintenance, controls, process technology, mechatronics, electrical, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience with controls/automation, industrial maintenance, or plastics/process technology.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, wiring schematics, and process or quality documentation.
• PLC and HMI troubleshooting or programming knowledge; FANUC or robotics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, and support Controls, Maintenance, and Process Technicians across shifts.
• Review work orders, preventive maintenance, production priorities, and assign tasks.
• Follow up on work, verify completion, and coach technicians on performance and procedures.
• Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting, repair, setup, and optimization of production equipment and automation.
• Coordinate rapid response to breakdowns to restore production safely.
• Assist programming, installation, modification, and troubleshooting of automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives).
• Support machine setup and process optimization to meet production and quality targets.
• Ensure documentation and records are completed accurately and on time.
