Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN seeks Structural Assemblers (3rd Shift) to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk.

The role includes training new team members and helping define our state-of-the-art production system, with paid on-site training in Saab’s aerospace structures academy and a September-October 2026 start date. Responsibilities include executing standardized procedures, delivering 100% quality, supporting continuous improvement, completing functional testing, touching

Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant assembly or hand tool operation experience required.
• Technical degree or certification in aviation assembly, mechanics, or aircraft maintenance is a plus.
• Experience delivering high quality in ISO/AS9100 standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality for fuselage assembly.
• Deliver work per quality requirements and work instructions in a team environment.
• Support continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Touch-up painting on Class A surfaces.
• Sign off when work is complete per specifications.
• Assist in training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with Saab values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support.
• Other tasks as assigned.
