Job summary

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. in La Fox, Illinois, seeks an SMT Programmer & Operator Lead for the 3rd shift to program SMT machines, ensure accurate placements, and lead the team. The role covers SMT engineering tasks, quality control, and IPC-certified training.

You will supervise the SMT area and coordinate with other departments to maintain production quality. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2–5 years in SMT, be able to lift 50 lbs, and possess solid mechanical/electronic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2–5 years SMT experience.
• Working computer knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and sit or stand for long periods.
• Good mechanical and electronic skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering staff to design, specify and select components for new products and support existing products.
• Program, set up, troubleshoot and maintain SMT equipment.
• Lead solder training sessions as lead IPC certified instructor.
• Train and oversee employees in the SMT department and shut down production if quality issues arise.
• Maintain organization and layout of the SMT area in coordination with Manufacturing Manager.
• Maintain records of production runs for analysis and review.
• Maintain maintenance logs of equipment, parts, manuals, and spares.
• Assist with troubleshooting failures during product testing and coordinate rework.
• Ensure proper material issuance to projects in coordination with planning.
• Perform cycle counts of materials as needed.
