Job summary

Atlas Tube at Zekelman Industries is hiring a Slitter Operator Exit to set up and operate high-speed, robotic-enabled equipment, producing steel products to exact dimensions. This role demands safety focus, attention to detail, and comfort with a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position is on 3rd shift (M-T 5:30pm-5:30am, Fri 5:30pm-4:00am) with competitive pay and production incentives. Expect hands-on operation, quality checks, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English; maintain production records/logs.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions).
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and other equipment as needed.
• Detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Regular onsite attendance is essential.
• Lead and promote health and safety practices per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment.
• Advanced set up and calibration of equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality before, during, and after running material.
• Record and report deficiencies to supervisor/quality department.
• Maintain tooling and tools necessary for job completion.
• Diagnose equipment and quality problems to minimize scrap.
• Perform housekeeping to keep work areas clean and safe.
• Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.
• Assist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs.
