Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience outdoors in variable weather conditions.
• Experience in quality control or inspection is a plus.
• Knowledge of ANSI, REA, AWPA, and ASTM standards.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Comfortable around pole piles and climbing ladders.
• Solid math skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and record-keeping abilities.
• Commitment to safety and proper PPE use.
• Familiarity with inventory systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Inspect treated wood utility poles for ANSI, REA, AWPA, and customer specifications.
• Identify defects and apply grading rules based on relevant standards.
• Perform penetration and retention testing on treating charges.
• Titrate treating solution as required.
• Accurately complete and maintain inspection records and documentation.
• Communicate inspection results with plant and quality leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with internal and independent quality inspectors.
• Other yard duties as needed.
