Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met. The role supports the Quality Control Manager and production by documenting non-conformances and maintaining records throughout the extrusion process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework in quality or manufacturing is a plus.
• Minimum of 1–2 years in quality control or inspection, preferably in plastic extrusion or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments and basic testing procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and interpret technical drawings.
• Must be physically capable of standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in production.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of extruded components.
• Conduct testing on physical properties using calipers, micrometers, Romidot, and Keyence.
• Record inspections and test results in logbooks, spreadsheets, or quality management systems.
• Identify and report any defects, non-conforming materials, or process deviations.
• Calibrate and verify measuring equipment at required intervals.
• Retain samples and complete batch records for traceability and compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the inspection area and follow safety protocols.
• Support internal audits and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure product quality across shifts.
