Job summary

Tyson Foods is hiring a Product Inspector for the 3rd shift in Kansas City. The role focuses on lean manufacturing, quality checks, and packaging verification to ensure USDA-compliant labeling and product integrity.

You will document hourly checks, operate vision and metal-detection equipment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Required are 3 months of machine/packer operator experience and at least 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of machine or packer operator experience.
• Minimum 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years.
• Willing to work the 3rd shift and complete required task after applying.

Responsibilities

• LEAN Manufacturing: participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace per 5S and Andon system.
• Ensure correct packaging by verifying labels and film.
• Document film, case, label, and GTIN in logs per event.
• Check misprints and quality issues on samples and labels.
• Inspect vision system cameras and perform metal detection checks.
• Monitor oxygen levels and perform checkweighing and weight checks.
• Identify material quality defects and manage rework with HMI and scales.
• Operate a handheld scanner.
