Job summary

Röchling Automotive in Akron, OH is seeking a Quality Audit professional for the 3rd shift to perform first-piece and incoming/outgoing inspections. You will use calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment to ensure parts meet quality standards and to prevent nonconformances.

The role requires attention to detail, basic Excel skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team within a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry and plastic parts environment preferred.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece inspections and dimensional measurements to support production approval processes.
• Conduct initial part inspections using fixtures, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Identify, escalate, and help contain nonconforming materials on the production floor to prevent quality issues.
• Perform incoming material inspections and complete all required documentation.
• Conduct outgoing product inspections and generate inspection reports.
• Identify and elevate supplier quality concerns to the appropriate teams.
• Manage and maintain containment areas for nonconforming materials.
• Calibrate, maintain, and verify measuring instruments, gauges, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
• Complete additional inspection, testing, and measurement activities as assigned.
• Support workplace organization, cleanliness, and 6S initiatives.
• Assist with continuous improvement activities and other quality-related duties as needed.
