Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking a Production Manager for the 3rd shift to oversee complex production lines, coordinate schedules, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement.

You will supervise line workers, prepare reports, train new hires, manage staffing, and collaborate across teams. Domestic relocation assistance is available, and occasional travel of 5-10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Strong analytical ability and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create reports and records of production processes, issues, performance and inventory; share with managers and suggest improvements.
• Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety/quality standards; ensure processes meet safety and quality expectations.
• Supervise daily activities of production line workers, assign tasks, coordinate between teams, ensure safety and monitor performance.
• Train new hires, manage scheduling and conflicts, monitor safety, and promote internal communication for collaboration and continuous improvement.
