Job summary

Röchling Automotive in Akron, Ohio is seeking an experienced Production Shift Leader on 3rd shift to oversee daily manufacturing operations, supervise hourly staff, and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality output.

The role requires a background in automotive manufacturing, leadership in fast-paced environments, and strong problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement and maintain KPI targets such as OEE, quality, and lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing, production, or operations.
• 2+ years of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience leading hourly workers in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and supervision to shift personnel, including operators and other staff.
• Ensure the daily production schedule is executed while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
• Coordinate break coverage, overtime, and staffing needs.
• Serve as the first escalation point for employee, production, quality, and operational issues.
• Monitor KPIs (OEE, productivity, scrap, quality, safety) and drive improvements.
• Maintain 5S standards and accurate production documentation.
• Coach employees and support performance reviews and development discussions.
• Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity.
