Job summary

Röchling Automotive in Akron, OH is seeking a hands-on Production Shift Leader for the 3rd shift to direct and supervise production staff, ensure the daily schedule is executed safely and efficiently, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing with 2+ years in leadership, preferably in automotive or high-volume environments, and a track record of leading hourly teams, optimizing KPIs, and maintaining 5S and EHS standards.

Qualifications

5+ years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
2+ years of automotive manufacturing experience.
Experience leading hourly employees in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, KVP/Kaizen, continuous improvement, and layered audits is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide direct leadership and supervision to production employees, including operators and other shift personnel.
Ensure the execution of the daily production schedule while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
Coordinate break coverage, overtime, and short-term workforce planning.
Serve as the first level of escalation for employee, production, quality, and operational issues.
Monitor KPI performance (OEE, productivity, scrap, quality, safety) and drive improvement actions.
Maintain 5S standards and a safe, clean, and organized production environment.
Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
