Job summary

QPS Employment Group currently has a Press Brake Operator position available in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 3rd shift role from 10:00pm to 6:30am, with the potential for hire after eligibility.

The candidate will set up, adjust and operate press brakes, read blueprints, and work with IQMS to manage work orders and prints. Responsibilities include maintenance tasks, tool cleanup, and mentoring other operators.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers and micrometer.
• Understanding of metric and decimal measurements.
• Proficient with IQMS or similar dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate press brakes to produce high-quality parts.
• Open/close work orders in IQMS dashboard and print drawings.
• Mentor and coach other operators when needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and tool checks; ensure machine safety.

Job description

Position Title: Press Brake Operator Wage: $23.11 per hour Shift: 3rd Hours: 10:00pm-6:30am (Sun-Thurs) QPS Employment Group has a great Press Brake Operator position available at a company in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 3rd shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Press Brake Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates machines to produce quality parts.
• Opens and closes work orders in IQMS dashboard.
• Prints drawings in IQMS dashboard.
• Produces high quality parts from prints, knows model numbers, and which components are required for the products.
• Consistently produces at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision.
• Troubleshoots machine problems. (I.e., machines, tools, etc.).
• Corrects machine and tooling setup for press brakes, drilling centers, and benders.
• Keeps tooling in top operating condition. (I.e., sharpens in house when feasible or notifies engineering when tool needs sharpening.
• Performs normal maintenance activities such as die sharpening, shimming, and mounting.
• Takes ownership of assigned equipment for 5S programs. I.e., cleanliness, spares, tool shadow boards, etc.
• May program new products on CNC equipment by using prints and machine/tooling knowledge.
• Makes recommendations for tooling replacement, repair, and purchase.
• Mentors and coaches other Machine Operators to help them improve these skills and abilities.
• Fills in or assists in leading production team when needed.
• Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Press Brake Operator Requirements:

• Previous machine operating experience preferred (I.e., experience with tube benders, press brakes and steel saws.)
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers, and micrometer is required.
• Understanding of metric and decimal measurements.
• Knowledge of computers to utilize IQMS as required.
• Skills in reviewing and accurately interpreting blueprint drawing for part number, tolerance, dimensions, etc.
• Balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and reaches to work overhead.
• Walks or stands for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks.
• Pushes and pulls materials, fingers and grasps parts and components.
• Exerts up to fifty pounds of force frequently.
• Pays close visual acuity to perform inspections and operate machines.
• Tolerates extremes in weather and machine temperature.
• Tolerates loud noise.
• Extensive use with power/hand tools.
• Requires visual acuity to access details (I.e., prints, parts, work orders, etc.)
• Requires communication skills so ideas and instructions can be given clearly and/or quickly and understood.
• Requires the ability to distinguish between speech, machinery, and other sounds to understand instructions and/or directions.
