Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Shift Operator for SPARC on the 3rd shift in Massachusetts. You will operate, monitor, and maintain plant systems, troubleshoot cooling water, HVAC, cryogenics, and electrical distribution from the control room and in the field.

This role requires a High School/GED and 5 years of operations experience in complex facilities, with LOTO experience, a strong safety mindset, and solid mechanical/electrical/hydraulic understanding.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 5 years in operations at complex facilities.
• Experience in low-voltage or complex electrical environments.
• Experience with large cooling water systems.
• LOTO/tagging program experience.
• Background in complex facility operations (power, oil & gas, LNG).
• Strong safety mindset and performance.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; follow procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain plant systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot cooling water, compressed air, HVAC, cryogenics, LN2, and electrical distribution.
• Safely operate equipment from the control room and in the field.
• Perform switching and tagging (Lockout/Tagout) to support maintenance.
• Participate in procedure development, revision, and optimization.
• Support system testing and commissioning.
• Adhere to human performance and safety standards in all activities.
