Job summary

Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is seeking a 3rd shift Multi-Line Extruder Operator at our Turners Falls, MA facility. You will set up and operate multi-head/tandem extrusion lines, manage dies, leaders, and temperatures, and ensure product quality per specifications.

Heavy lifting and a flexible schedule are included. We offer competitive hourly pay with a $3.00 shift differential for the 3rd shift, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and basic math skills required.
• 3+ years of progressive manufacturing experience directly related to extrusion preferred
• Ability to plan, perform and make decisions on setups and operations of multi-head/multi-line extruders to meet specs

Responsibilities

• Work from shop orders and requisitions; move heavy wire reels to take-off apparatus.
• Schedule production by consolidating shop orders for efficiency and deadlines.
• Set ups require precise adjustment of dies and leaders to maintain temperatures, speeds, and feeds.
• Operate marking/printing machines to apply IDs or legends to extruded products.
• Perform tests such as concentricity, OD/ID, elongation, and adhesion per specs.
• Monitor operations and adjust water troughs, speeds, and other variables to meet quality targets.
• Report defective materials or equipment issues and keep work areas clean.
• Maintain a flexible schedule as required.
