Job description

Position Overview

Welder position at Lennox AES in Tallassee, AL (3rd shift). Hours: Monday – Thursday 8 PM–6:30 AM.

Duties
  • Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production.
  • MIG weld 10‑to‑20‑gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Under direct supervision, spot weld metal components.
Requirements
  • Familiar with safe welding practices.
  • Ability to learn to read fabrication drawings with some instruction.
  • Experience welding 10‑to‑20‑gauge galvanized steel (can be taught).
  • Physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Self‑starter with minimal guidance on daily tasks.
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding machines, preventive maintenance, and control settings.
  • Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school or certification in welding preferred.
  • At least 1 year of MIG welding experience required.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a team setting.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation

This hourly non‑exempt role starts at $19.50/hour with a shift differential of $2.00/hour. Overtime is paid for hours worked beyond 40 per week, as required by state law.
