Job summary

MAT Industries LLC. in Jackson, TN is hiring a second shift Welder. The role pays $22.60/hour with a $2.50 shift differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The 2nd shift runs Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with overtime opportunities. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, and 401(k) with match.

You will perform MIG and hand welding, read blueprints, and ensure weld quality to code with Lean manufacturing practices. Training and advancement are available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Relevant experience in MIG welding and must pass on-site MIG weld test.
  • Be able to work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Welding in a fast paced assembly style environment.
  • MIG welding multiple attachments -12 gauge to .179" brackets and tubing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding.
  • Assemble and MIG weld parts in accordance with blueprints, drawings and verbal instruction.
  • Conduct quality inspections of work.

The position starts at $22.60/hour plus an additional $2.50 shift differential for hours worked (excludes PTO, holidays, etc.). 2nd Shift's hours are MONDAY - THURSDAY, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with opportunities for overtime. The position also offers a $1,000.00 Sign-On Bonus. Job Description

Welder position pay starts at $22.60/hour and increases based on your experience plus an additional $2.50 shift differential. The position includes a $1,000.00 Sign-On Bonus.

Machine Welding & Hand Welding will be expected in this role, based on production needs! The 2nd SHIFT runs MONDAY-THURSDAY, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am. Should overtime be available, it will be scheduled on Fridays usually in 8-hour shifts. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, as well as paid vacation, sick days, and 8 paid holidays, and are eligible for a yearly bonus.

  • Welding in a fast paced assembly style environment.
  • MIG welding multiple attachments -12 gauge to .179" brackets and tubing.
  • Most welding positions require passing ASME Certification requiring 6" vertical down weld with full penetration on .094 material with a gap of .052". Welded plate root and cover bent to verify no defects in weld. Welds cannot have any defects such as porosity, undercut, concave, etc. Welds must be to code and cosmetically acceptable. Follow all safety regulations and encourage co-workers to follow safety regulations.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures and encourage co-workers to follow company policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding.
  • Assemble and MIG weld parts in accordance with blueprints, drawings and verbal instruction.
  • Conduct quality inspections of work.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits on production items.
  • Provide data to assist in monitoring and tracking project status.
  • Assist in training of junior employees, inspecting their work.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques.
  • Actively participate in the development of a LEAN manufacturing culture.
  • May perform various duties that do not always require hand welding. Welders could be assigned to operate various pieces of welding and non-welding equipment to meet customer demand.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Relevant experience in MIG welding and must pass on-site MIG weld test.
  • Be able to work as scheduled
