Primetals Technologies USA in Ghent, KY is seeking a 3rd shift Mechanic to join our maintenance team at the Ghent facility. The role involves maintaining equipment used to cast and form steel products, reading engineering specs and measuring instruments, and performing on-site repairs at customer locations.

Qualified candidates have industrial/mechanical maintenance experience and the ability to read work instructions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.
• Must read and interpret written work instructions and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery by performing mechanical maintenance on equipment used to cast and form steel products.
• Reads and interprets work instructions, engineering specs, and measuring instruments.
• Locates sources of problems by observing devices and analyzing wear.
• Removes and replaces defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Assembles/disassembles casting equipment at customer sites.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and adheres to regulations.
• Contributes to team effort to achieve related results.
