Job summary

B&G Foods Inc. is seeking a Material Handler for our Ankeny, IA facility to operate forklifts, move materials, and support packaging line activities on the 3rd shift (Mon-Thu, 6:45 PM–5:15 AM).

The role requires adherence to safety and cGMP standards and the ability to work at a fast pace with occasional overtime. Responsibilities include tracking production data, changing over lines, and ensuring accurate material transfers for packaging, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to read and follow work orders.

Responsibilities

• Attaches case identifiers to materials and pallet; transports finished product to/from warehouse staging area.
• Operates material handling equipment safely to minimize risk to personnel and inventory.
• Keeps accurate production records and reconciles work orders as needed.
• Performs changeovers and setup for production runs.
• Counts, weighs and records materials moved daily.
• Reads work orders and schedules to determine procedures and material requirements.
• Ensures materials on packaging lines are accurate and ready for use.
