Job summary

Nemco Food Equipment LTD is seeking a Material Handler to join our fast-paced production team. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, stock and locate materials, and ensure accurate inventory while meeting productivity and safety standards.

Responsibilities include handling in-process inventory, documenting material disposition, preparing finished stock for shipment, and performing pre-use inspections on equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to set up and operate material handling equipment.
• Pass a forklift driving test (Nemco certification).
• Ability to keep workspace clean and organized.

• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.

In this job, you will work in a fast-paced production environment, using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and inventory software. After an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met.

Relevant Work Experience

Experience as a material handler in a production environment preferred.

Work Schedule

• This is a 3rd shift position. You will start on 1st shift and after an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Training is expected to last about 3 weeks, at which time you will move to 3rd shift.
• Sunday night - Friday morning (9:00am - 5:00pm; 8-hour shift 20 minute paid lunch) Subject to Change
• Frequent overtime is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
• Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile).
• Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.
• Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
• Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
• Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
• Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts in tubs, carts, or pallets.
• Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.
