Job summary

Nemco Food Equipment, a family-owned manufacturer of food service equipment, seeks a skilled CNC machine operator to join our production team. You will set up and operate CNC vertical mills, read drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances after a short training period.

The role is on the 3rd shift, with an initial training phase on 1st shift, and occasional overtime. Candidates should have machining experience and strong eye-hand coordination to produce quality parts for our growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine to ensure quality.
• Reports all machine malfunctions to supervisor.
• Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop employees for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.

Nemco Food Equipment is committed to the manufacturing and on-time delivery of these piece parts to the assembly operations with a very experienced staff of metalworkers who can operate a variety of work centers able to machine steel and aluminum into complex parts. In this job, you will work in a production environment, working with CNC vertical mills. After an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Durations of set-ups and run times will vary. Tasks require an exceptional degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. Machining experience is a must.

• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production.
• Reports all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor.
• Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop employees for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.

Relevant Work Experience

Experience as a machine operator in a production environment is preferred.

Work Schedule

• This is a 3rd shift position. You will start on 1st shift and after an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Training is expected to last about 3 weeks, at which time you will move to 3rd shift.
• Sunday night - Friday morning (9:00pm - 5:00am; 8-hour shift 20 minute paid lunch) Subject to Change
• Occasional overtime is required

• Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
• Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.
• Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.

• Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
• Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixture in machine, tubs, carts, or pallets.
• Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.
• Gripping: Frequent gripping of parts.
