Job summary

WILBERT INC is seeking to hire a production associate to tend plastic molding machines and support the production line at our Harrisburg, NC facility. You will move materials, stage items for mold changes, and help prepare workstations to ensure on-schedule manufacturing.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift license, and experience in plastics manufacturing is preferred. Safety, cleanliness, and teamwork are essential to daily operations and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Tend plastic molding machines, such as injection molding or thermoforming, to meet production schedule.
• Assist in the preparation of workstations prior to starting production.
• Bring raw material to press locations for color changes and mold changes.
• Identify and stage materials for production and ensure proper labeling and inventory tracking.
• Lead machine clean-up and safety practices; assist with mold setups and equipment maintenance.

Assist in the removal and clean up of raw material after production run is complete.Role and ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of workstations prior to starting production.Bring raw material to press locations for color changes and mold changesStage materials in dryers several hours before mold changes, reducing downtime.Identify all materials that have been staged for production.Ensure that raw material supplies including concentrates for each workstation scheduled on the shift stay full.Return any unused or not needed material back to staging/gate and assist with workstation clean upNotify technicians and quarantine any material that is contaminated and/or questionable.Control the movement and correct labeling of scrap from machines.Set up grinders to reclaim scrap and oversee the grinding of scrap materials.Move aux. equipment to the machines when needed and away when not needed.Assist in mold set upsMaintain filters, dryers, drying ovens, vacuum stations and grinders.Assist with inventory preparation and counting.Lead machine clean-up efforts ensuring that raw materials will not be damaged or contaminated.Responsible for recordkeeping related to inventory and lot to lot traceability.Perform routine inspection of forklift equipment and notify supervisor/management of needed repairsSafely use forklifts and other equipment needed for job task.Observe all safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.Injection MoldingPre-mix any materials needed.Assist in oil spills, keeping area safe.Qualifications and Education RequirementsHigh School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredExperience in plastics manufacturing preferredExperience using a forklift preferredMust obtain and maintain a valid forklift license to hold positionAll required WilbertU Courses based on job titlePreferred SkillsAverage math skillsAttention to detail and organizationAble to work well with others with minimal supervisionAbility to successful maneuver and operate a forklift truckAdditional Notes*The above job description is a broadly-based description and is not intended to contain all specifics of a particular job.
