Job summary

Kennametal Roanoke Rapids is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the 3rd shift to ensure efficient floor operations and timely production.

You will oversee staff, enforce safety standards, drive continuous improvement, manage maintenance activities, and coordinate with EHS and quality teams to meet production goals.

This role requires strong planning, communication by phone and email, and experience supervising manufacturing teams in a high- pace environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; 4-year degree preferred with 3 years manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of formal technical training beyond high school and 3–5 years of people supervision.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and robust problem-solving techniques.
• MRP knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time delivery and lead-time goals; manage order-processing flow.
• Identify maintenance issues and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Suggest staffing changes to meet production requirements.
• Specify tools, fixtures, spare parts and raw materials when appropriate.
• Review productivity with year-over-year improvements.
• Lead / participate in continuous improvement projects for performance objectives.
• Prepare monthly update reports to department manager.
• Participate in ISO audits and address corrective actions.
