Job summary

Ravago in Wadsworth, Ohio is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to maintain and lubricate all plant machinery and safeguard equipment. You will perform tasks assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Manager, keep systems running, and support operators with training.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience, knowledge of SAP or Maximo, and the ability to work across shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Two years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications.
• Two to 5 years industrial maintenance (Preferred).
• Proficient in electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.
• Pumping and Conveyor system maintenance experience (Preferred).
• Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems (SAP or Maximo).
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, email).
• Ability to cover other shifts as needed.
• Strong knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics and/or pneumatics in manufacturing.
• Experience changing bearings and motors (Preferred).
• PLC and automated systems education/experience (Preferred).
• Ability to operate scissors and two-man lift.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and efficient machine and daily procedures.
• Maintain cooling water systems to mills, Bunbury's and other machinery in the plant.
• Inspect and maintain air compressors.
• Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean work area to reduce safety hazards.
• Remain on call for emergencies.
• Support operators by providing training.
• Complete preventative maintenance work orders and reactive maintenance logs.
• Create improvement proposals and execute tasks from improvement proposals.
• Complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Participate in problem analysis and root-cause identification.
• Work with outside contractors and ensure sign-in/out procedures are followed.
• Ensure Job Safety Analysis is completed when needed by contractors.
• Add chemicals to water in pump house as needed.
• PPE worn at all times.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Apply RMA 7S for Success standards.
• Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
• Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

• Maintain and lubricate all machinery and safeguard company property. Keep all equipment operating at optimal level. Perform tasks as assigned by Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Manager.

• Maintain a clean work area to reduce safety hazards.
• Remain on call for emergencies.
• Support operators by providing training.
• Complete preventative maintenance work orders and reactive maintenance repair logs.
• Create improvement proposals and execute tasks resulting from improvement proposals.
• Complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Participate in problem analysis, identification of root causes, and suitable permanent solutions.
• Work with outside contractors as needed and ensure they follow the proper sign-in and out procedures.
• Ensure a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is completed when needed by outside contractors.
• Add chemicals to water in pump house as needed.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) worn at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
• Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Two years experience and technical knowledge in areas of electrical and mechanical maintenance of equipment or military experience in a technical field or Associated Degree in a technical field. (Preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications.
• Two to 5 years industrial maintenance. (Preferred)
• Proficient in both electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.
• Pumping system and Conveyor system maintenance experience. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems (i.e SAP or Maximo).
• Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft office, email, etc.)
• Ability to cover other shifts as needed (Due to PTO or Leave).
• Strong knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics in a manufacturing environment. (Preferred)
• Experience changing out bearing and motors. (Preferred)
• PLC and automated systems education and/or experience. (Preferred)
• Ability to operate scissors and two-man lift.
