Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Wickliffe, OH facility on 2nd shift (2pm-10pm). The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment to ensure optimal production uptime.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Prior experience as a Maintenance Technician or skilled trades professional preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production and process equipment.
  • Repair and maintain equipment on-site and at external locations as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance projects as directed by supervisors/managers.
  • Maintain 6S standards in work area and tools.
  • Operate maintenance equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Perform routine robot operation and preventative maintenance and light PLC troubleshooting/programming as needed.

Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

Location: Wickliffe, Ohio

Shift: 2nd Shift, 2pm-10pm

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Wickliffe facility on 2nd shift. In this role, you will work with minimal supervision to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting production by implementing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues quickly, and maintaining safe, reliable equipment operations. This position works closely with department managers and engineering teams to ensure equipment is operational and preventative maintenance schedules are current to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production and process equipment throughout the facility.
  • Repair, service, and maintain equipment both on-site and at external vendors, suppliers, customers, or other company locations as needed.
  • Assist with plant maintenance projects as directed by the Supervisor, Facilities Manager, or Maintenance Engineers.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and 6S standards in the work area, maintenance shop, and personal tools/locker.
  • Perform work in multiple technical areas including:
    • Electrical systems
    • Pneumatics and hydraulics
    • Pipe fitting
    • Welding and soldering
  • Safely handle hazardous waste and materials in accordance with SDS guidelines and company policies.
  • Maintain and repair production process equipment plant-wide.
  • Operate maintenance equipment such as fork trucks, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Perform routine robot operation and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and perform light programming when needed.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of production processes and materials used in the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Identify and maintain critical spare parts inventory for key equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments with aggressive timelines.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on with teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Experience supporting maintenance or facilities operations in manufacturing.
  • Vacuum furnace operation and repair experience is a strong plus.
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Hydraulics
  • Prior experience as a Maintenance Technician or skilled trades professional preferred
