Job summary

Ravago Americas in Ohio is seeking a maintenance technician to perform safe, daily machine procedures and maintain critical systems across the plant. You will support operations, train operators, and drive PM/repair logs while following safety standards.

The role requires a mix of electrical and mechanical expertise, CMMS experience, and the ability to work various shifts as needed in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications.
• 2–5 years industrial maintenance (preferred).
• Proficient in electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Pumping and Conveyor system maintenance experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of CMMS (SAP or Maximo).
• Basic computer skills (Office, email).
• Ability to cover other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and efficient machine and daily procedures.
• Maintain cooling water systems to mills and other machinery.
• Inspect and maintain air compressors.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area to reduce safety hazards.
• Remain on call for emergencies.
• Support operators by providing training.
• Complete preventive maintenance work orders and repair logs.
• Create and execute improvement proposals.
• Complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and permanent solutions.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and ensure sign-in/out.
• Ensure Job Safety Analysis is completed when needed.
• Add chemicals to water in pump house as needed.
• PPE worn at all times and safety regulations followed.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Apply RMA 7S for Success standards; uphold Code of Conduct.
• Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager.

• Maintain and lubricate all machinery and safeguard company property. Keep all equipment operating at optimal level. Perform tasks as assigned by Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Manager.

Essential Functions

• Perform safe and efficient machine and daily procedures.
• Maintain cooling water systems to mills, Bunbury's and other machinery in the plant.
• Inspect and maintain air compressors.
• Ensure all lockout/tagout procedures are being followed properly when working on equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area to reduce safety hazards.
• Remain on call for emergencies.
• Support operators by providing training.
• Complete preventative maintenance work orders and reactive maintenance repair logs.
• Create improvement proposals and execute tasks resulting from improvement proposals.
• Complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Participate in problem analysis, identification of root causes, and suitable permanent solutions.
• Work with outside contractors as needed and ensure they follow the proper sign-in and out procedures.
• Ensure a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is completed when needed by outside contractors.
• Add chemicals to water in pump house as needed.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) worn at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
• Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager.

Knowledge / Qualificatons / Skills / Experience

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Two years experience and technical knowledge in areas of electrical and mechanical maintenance of equipment or military experience in a technical field or Associated Degree in a technical field. (Preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications.
• Two to 5 years industrial maintenance. (Preferred)
• Proficient in both electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.
• Pumping system and Conveyor system maintenance experience. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems (i.e SAP or Maximo).
• Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft office, email, etc.)
• Ability to cover other shifts as needed (Due to PTO or Leave).
• Strong knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics in a manufacturing environment. (Preferred)
• Experience changing out bearing and motors. (Preferred)
• PLC and automated systems education and/or experience. (Preferred)
• Forklift license required.
• Ability to operate scissors and two-man lift.
