Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to uphold mechanical and electrical systems in its Lansing, Michigan facility. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and coordinating repairs with vendors to keep production lines running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing, strong electrical/hydraulic knowledge, and ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

Must have at least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
Must possess in-depth electrical knowledge and ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical, machining, hydraulics, and maintenance schematics.
Experience with industrial production systems, plumbing, control systems, welding, fabrication, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to operate tools and measuring equipment and interpret drawings, schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety and environmental standards and procedures.
Repair and maintain facility machinery and equipment via preventative maintenance and problem solving.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors to initiate repairs as needed.
Diagnose issues in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and repair to spec.
Inspect devices in operation to determine root cause and dismantle/adjust as needed.
Suggest process improvements to increase machine efficiency and uptime.
Prioritize daily tasks to keep facilities running and within schedule.
Be willing to work extra hours and participate in on-call rotation.
