Job purpose
The Maintenance Tech Level-II is responsible for conducting assigned PMs and servicing all equipment calls on the production floor. This includes repairs on the spot and/or repairs that require a Work Order (WO). The position requires compliance with all safety, food safety, facility audits, and GMP standards at all times.
Duties and responsibilities
- Performs regular maintenance tasks (PMs) as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintains manufacturing assets and facilities, including lubrication, monitoring, and filter checks.
- Supports training and ongoing development for personnel.
- Reports maintenance work completed during shift and at the end of the day.
- Follows all food safety guidelines and protocols when servicing equipment.
- Models the company's safety culture and strives for 100% safety compliance.
- Willing to work flexible schedules, including other shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance technician role.
- Ability to read English and follow equipment manuals.
- Knowledge in specific skill sets such as HVAC, electrical, machining, welding, etc.
- Ability to perform diagnostics, replace components, and order spare parts as needed.
- Experience in the food industry is a plus.
- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training is preferred but not required.
Experience
- Excellent communication skills and respect for others.
- Organized, detail-oriented, with a hands-on work ethic.
- Proficient in Excel, Word; CAD skills are a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes.
- Knowledge in maintenance and reliability practices.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong personal skills.
- Ability to perform Level-I technician tasks.
- Experience with CMMS is a plus.
- Background in HACCP, safety, GMPs, and food safety audits.
Working conditions
- Ability to work any shift as directed.
- Overtime work, including holidays and weekends, may be required.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Adherence to all safety programs and procedures.
Physical requirements
- Non-slip work shoes.
- Ability to work all shifts as scheduled.
- Pre-shift stretching and exercises.
- Use of hair restraints, beard nets, gloves, and PPE as required.
- Ability to stand, sit, lift up to 50 lbs, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.
- Good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
