Job Profile Title: Quality Technician II
Location/Division Specific Information: SLC/ Grantsville, UT/ S05
How will you make an impact? As the Quality Technician, you will assist the Quality Engineering function by providing technical support on manufacturing issues, supporting and driving corrective actions, and fostering continuous improvements. Third Shift hours are: 11pm MDT - 7:30 am MDT.
What will you do?
- Operate precision quality control equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, comparators, multimeters) to assess part quality and perform/document cosmetic, functional, and dimensional inspections as per the product quality plan.
- Evaluate product and process acceptability based on sampling results.
- Authorize the acceptance of conforming materials, reject non-conforming lots, and properly segregate and document non-conforming materials.
- Conduct startup inspections and audits following Jabil documented procedures (LPA & FAI).
- Notify shift supervisors of non-conforming conditions for corrective action (QRQC), segregate/purge non-conforming products to prevent errors, and maintain product quality, ensuring all materials are placed in the MRB area.
- Communicate effectively with the next shift's quality technician about machine, product, and quality issues.
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety, housekeeping (6S), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and processes, providing verbal and written reports to supervisors regarding defects or issues found in products or the manufacturing line.
How will you get here?
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Quality-related role.
- Computer literate with intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
- Experience in manufacturing, leading process improvements, or lean manufacturing activities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, with a proactive work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills.

- Basic statistical knowledge and intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Ability to work third shift hours (11 pm MDT - 7:30 am MDT).
- Willingness to work possible weekend hours and overtime.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Diploma in Quality or a related discipline.
