Job summary

Grainger is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:30am) at our Bordentown, NJ distribution center. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on automated material handling systems and building infrastructure to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires 5+ years of maintenance experience, familiarity with Dematic or similar conveyors, AC drives, PLCs, and CMMS.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of building and equipment maintenance with two years maintaining Dematic or similar conveyor systems.
2+ years of experience with AC drives (set-up, programming, faults).
Familiarity with Microsoft and CMMS programs.
Experience with power distribution, electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and gauges.
Experience reading Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

Respond to system issues involving conveyors, PIE, sortation and controls (EMS, WCS, Sort Director, EWM, Hardware, and Software).
Basic troubleshooting/diagnostic and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system components of the conveyor system and building components, including PLCs, DC drivers, AC invertors, linear motors, VFDs, encoders, scanners, power distribution, CMMS.
Be a subject matter expert for conveyors, cross belt system, Dematic Multi Shuttle System/Goods to Person System.
Operate all material handling and mobile equipment within the Distribution Center.
Work at heights and in unusual positions.
Knowledge and application of safe work practices, lockout/tagout (LOTO) standards and Arc Flash.
Design, implement, and document PLC programming changes to automated equipment when authorized.
Troubleshoot and implement changes to I/O device networks such as Probus, Data Highway, and CanBus.
