Job summary

Staff Management | SMX is hiring for a Maintenance Technician in Hopkinsville, KY. The role focuses on maintaining plant equipment, tooling, and facilities while supporting mold production processes. The position is full-time, direct hire with a 3rd shift and a pay range reflecting experience.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED and at least 5 years of maintenance experience. Training and benefits are provided, with opportunities for advancement within the facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of maintenance experience required.
• Able to read hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls/electrical schematics.
• Basic PLC knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Basic HMI knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Fanuc material handling robot experience a plus (not required).
• Skilled in reading blueprints and math for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery, and tooling, including mold preparation and fixture fabrication.
• Mold tuning and troubleshooting molds.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work with subcontractors as directed.
• Analyze maintenance failures for trends and implement countermeasures.
• Repair and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3-phase motors and drives.

• 3 rd shift hours are 10:00 pm - 7:00 am w/ rotating weekends

Shifts: 3rd Shift.

Employment Types: Full Time, Direct Hire, Long Term.

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $34.01 / hour

Duties:

• Perform maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery, and tooling, including mold preparation, pre-production and production tooling & fixture fabrication.
• Mold Tuning and Troubleshooting Molds
• Perform overall maintenance for buildings, equipment, grounds, and machinery.
• Work with subcontractors as directed.
• Analyze maintenance failures for trends and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure EMS / QMS procedures are followed in performance of job duties.
• Troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems
• Pneumatic valve bank troubleshooting and repair
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair of 480V 3-phase motors and drives
• Troubleshoot and repair 24V control wiring and components

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5 years of maintenance experience required
• Electrical Maintenance experience preferred
• Able to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls/electrical schematics
• Basic PLC knowledge and troubleshooting
• Basic HMI knowledge and troubleshooting
• Fanuc material handling robot experience a plus (not required)
• Skilled in written and verbal communication.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel & twist.
• Skilled with Lathe, Mill, Surface Grinder
• Strong math and blueprint reading skills. Tool & Die experience.
• Experience with repair and maintenance of equipment, tooling & machinery
• Must be able to use small hand tools
• Must be able to lift/move 25 lbs. regularly; may occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs., but only with assistance from other team members.

Requirements: Background Check, Drug Test, Stand for Shift Duration, Must be at least 18 years old.Able to Lift 50 pounds., required education: HS Diploma or GED.
