Job summary

Perdue Foods, part of Perdue Farms, seeks a Maintenance Technician II to keep production machinery and automated systems running safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement on site.

The role involves hands-on repairs, operating on 3rd shift (6:00pm-6:00am) with 2-2-3 rotating schedule, and travel to nearby locations as needed. A strong mechanical background and safety commitment are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years experience in Industrial Maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or equivalent military experience.
• Intermediate Proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, Welding and Rigging.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broader range of duties, more technically complex tasks, expected to set an example of professional efficiency, demonstrates a higher degree of independence, and may occasionally provide technical direction to less experienced maintenance staff.
• Provide equipment maintenance, interventions, and repairs, and conducts preventive machinery maintenance.
• Perform intermediate level troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Provide Operators with support around machine overall equipment reliability.
• May assist in troubleshooting equipment set up and production changeovers.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. Recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations.
• Maintain work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.
• Understand and follow all safety standards and quality protocols to ensure production exceeds the standards.
• Utilize appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize and withstand exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards.
• Learn and observe all safety precautions as required.
• Work all required work schedules. Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.
