Job summary

George's Inc. in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Maintenance Lead for the 3rd shift to guide our on-site maintenance team in repairing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and related building systems.

The role emphasizes safe, timely, and efficient maintenance work, with duties including prioritizing tasks, training new staff, reading blueprints, and coordinating with supervision to ensure flawless operation of facilities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; 6+ years in maintenance roles.
Basic welding experience.
Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Have or obtain tools needed to perform tasks; proficient with common hand, power, and industrial tools.
Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Oversees maintenance team work.
Plans training and orientation for new maintenance team members.
Evaluates machinery, equipment, and facilities to determine maintenance or repairs.
Coordinates with maintenance supervisor to plan work priorities and obtain supplies.
Delegates assignments based on team members' skills and experience.
Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively and promptly.
Inspects work performed by team members.
Tracks time, materials, and resources for inventory purposes.
Assists with safety meeting topics.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
