Valmont Industries in Claremore, OK is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Crew Lead for the Global Coatings Division. You will supervise daily maintenance activities, diagnose equipment issues, and oversee repairs on hoists, pumps, conveyors, and related machinery to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in general maintenance with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing skills, and safety-focused communication with coworkers.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in general maintenance with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and plumbing skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment such as hoist motors, pumps, belts, fans, conveyors, etc.
• Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble from blueprints or sketches.
• Disassembles machines and repairs/replaces broken parts.
• Maintains forklifts and supports production fixtures and racks.
• Follows safety procedures and keeps area clean.

How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the 3rd Shift Maintenance Crew Lead position in the Global Coatings Division. 3rd shift will be Sunday - Thursday, 9pm-5:30am, with overtime as needed, based on business needs. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will assist in the daily functions of the Maintenance Department.

• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as hoist motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.
• Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Disassembles machines and repairs and replaces broken parts.
• Uses all types of power tools and hand tools.
• Repairs woodwork, minor electrical problems, plumbing and buildings.
• Adjustment of functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
• Keeps work area clean; observes all safety procedures.
• Interprets blueprints, works from sketches or verbal instructions.
• Maintains all types of forklifts and keeps in operating condition.
• Contributes to the design and fabrication of production fixtures and racks.
• Carries out preventative maintenance program for all production equipment, mechanical devices, building and land, including maintaining maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum five (5) years of previous experience in a general maintenance that has provided training in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and plumbing skills. The ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, welding layouts, schematics, and complex electro mechanical assembly and/or erection directions. Must have a high awareness for safety at all times. The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment. The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner. Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• Five years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Five years of previous experience with overhead crane operations.
• Five years of previous experience operating a forklift.
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
• The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety.
