Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, NC is seeking a 3rd Shift Senior Logistics Manager to oversee material, equipment, workforce, quality and production schedule execution at the CTL manufacturing factory.

You will direct teams, drive Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement, manage cost, quality, safety, and collaboration with support departments; the role requires strong analytics, planning, and leadership with 5+ years supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain or logistics discipline is preferred.
• Experience in supply chain planning/engineering or inventory control is desirable.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is preferred.
• Experience with yard management systems or Glovia ERP is advantageous.
• Ten years of experience in a high velocity manufacturing or logistics environment is common
• Five years of direct supervisory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material, equipment, workforce, quality and production schedules to meet targets.
• Direct the work of others and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma).
• Develop and deploy logistics plans, manage cost, velocity and quality targets.
• Audit safety, quality, training and process metrics; report on performance.
• Lead training and development for direct reports and cross-functional teams.
