JBS Foods in Ottumwa, IA is seeking a Livestock Floater to support the Livestock department. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, food safety and quality programs, with responsibilities including monitoring receiving/unloading of livestock and sorting operations on the floor.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least 6 months in quality assurance, food safety, auditing, or production, plus basic computer skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

• Understanding of USDA requirements (HACCP). Able to rethink and improve business for continued growth.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.

• Basic computer and Microsoft Office software skills.
• Internal applicants must have less than 3 attendance points and no written warnings or suspensions in the last calendar year.

POSITION A NNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: LIVESTOCK FLOATER

DEPARTMENT: LIVESTOCK

LOCATION: OTTUMWA, IA

SALARY CLASS: NON-EXEMPT

This position is responsible for assuring regulatory compliance, customer specifications/quality issues, food safety and quality programs within the pant facility.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• 40% - Monitor and Auditing the receiving and unloading of livestock at the unloading docks in the Livestock department.
• 40% - Counting and sorting livestock after unloading
• 20% -. Stun Tech/Lead Sorter
• Cover for all hourly management members in Livestock as needed (including all shifts).

WORK CONDITIONS

• Work 40+ hours per week on production floor; Saturdays as needed.
• Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, chemicals, sharp objectives (knives), machinery, and vehicles

REQUIREMENTS
