Job summary

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) invites applicants for a hands-on manufacturing associate role in Byesville, OH. You will inspect springs, gears, and transmission parts and operate hoists and testing gauges as part of the remanufacturing process.

This onsite position emphasizes safety, quality and teamwork. Starting pay is $19.55/hr with potential to reach $27.59/hr, plus quarterly gainsharing and optional shift differentials for off shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for inspecting springs, bolts, gears, S60/MBE/HDEP head parts, misc. engine parts and DT12 transmission parts by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for using enges reamer, spring tester, misc. gauges, hoist, air tools.

This position offers:

• Starting pay of $19.55/hr. up to top pay of $27.59/hr.*
• Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential

What You Drive at DTNA

• Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
• Inspection of small components
• Operate hoist, gauges, air tools, engus reamer, hand cart, lift table, lift cart, pallet jack, spring tester
• Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
• Adhere to established work rotation plan
• Complete training matrix for each rotation position
• Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
• Other tasks and/or duties as requested
• Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks
• Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power & hand tools
• Must be able to stand on concrete for an entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds .
• Must maintain a clean work area.
• Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
• Cross training on other jobs as required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
• Previous mechanical experience
• High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
