Job summary

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) in Byesville, OH is seeking an associate to prep and assemble S50/60-cylinder heads using the established remanufacturing process. You will inspect parts, use hand and air tools, and install components such as freeze plugs and pipe plugs while maintaining quality standards.

The role offers starting pay of $20.70 per hour, up to $29.21 per hour, with shift differential for off shifts and quarterly gainsharing.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools.
• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble S50/60-cylinder heads using the remanufacturing process.
• Inspect parts to ensure quality standards.
• Identify component parts by learning identification numbers and follow Workstation Instructions.
• Operate jigs, fixtures, hoists and hand/air tools.
• Help improve safety, attendance, productivity and housekeeping.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for the prepping and assembly of S50/60-cylinder heads by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for performing visual inspection of products to meet established quality standards, using various hand & air tools, and installing various parts such as freeze plugs, & pipe plugs, etc.

• Starting pay of $20.70/hr. up to top pay of $29.21/hr.*

What You Drive at DTNA

• Operating Rottler seat cutting machine, air tools, impact wrenches, multi press horizontal hydraulic presses, dial gauges, and battery-operated torque wrenches.
• Use of pallet jack & hoist
• Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
• Adhere to established work rotation plan
• Complete training matrix for each rotation position
• Ability to read and understand Workstation Instructions
• Other tasks and/or duties as requested
• Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks
• Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
• Operate the following tools and equipment: jigs and fixtures, hoist, air tools, hand tools, grinders

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds .
• Must maintain a clean work area.
• Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
• Cross train on other jobs as required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
• Previous mechanical experience
• High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
